Water You Waiting For? Check Out These Photos of the Refilled Cinderella Castle Moat in Disney World!

Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom has undergone quite the royal transformation.

Cinderella Castle

During our last trip to Magic Kingdom, we noticed quite a few changes. One of the most noticeable changes is right near the castle with the castle moat.

As construction was being done on the castle, the moat around the castle was drained.

But, just like when the moat was refilled last year, the ones enjoying the refilled moat the most are those Magic Kingdom ducks! It looks like all of the updates to the castle in Magic Kingdom are coming along swimmingly.

  1. I won’t go so far as to say I hate the new castle colors but the new paint scheme seems to separate the central castle section from the outer rampart section (yeah, I had to look up rampart to be sure I was using the correct word) and makes the overall castle seem smaller to me. I’m with Judy, I appreciated the 25th BDay overlay. I can see where first visitors and the “once in a lifetime visitor” could have not appreciated missing seeing the iconic castle, but for me, it was really cool.

  2. The castle in Disney World is The Cinderella Castle. In Florida. Not Sleeping Beauty Castle. In California. Why add pink? A shade of blue or grey would have been perfect. Perhaps Disney was trying to be trendy using that pink color. For the record, I am not a castle-complainer type of gal. I loved loved when the 25 th Anniversary castle was painted like a giant cake! It was wonderful! Other additions/variations were good too. This present castle just doesn’t fit. Like Cinderella’s shoe on the stepsisters.

  3. Yay! So glad to see the moat refilled. It looks beautiful. Now, if we could only get rid of the dreadful pink on the castle.
