I ate here 2/24/18 for lunch. I informed the host that I was vegan at the time of check in and she gave me the allergy menu and then informed my server. Upon being seated my server confirmed my dietary needs and had a chef walk me through the buffet to let me know what foods were vegan and what foods weren’t. The food was very good, my server was attentive, and the characters were great. This place is a good value and great for the whole family. The personal attention I got from the chef is more than enough reason to recommend this place to anyone with a dietary concern. Well done Tuskegee House, I will be back.

We were really hungry & lucked into Tusker having tables available for lunch. Top notch buffet with healthy unique vegan items (plenty of meat too). Better than your typical amusement park food & you get to hug Mickey too
Pros:
Tasty hot healthy unique food with vegan itemsCons:

My wife and I have stayed at Walt Disney resorts over 40 times. We have eaten at many restaurants both in the parks and at the resorts. Unfortunately this experience was one of the worst food experiences I’ve ever had at Disney. The chicken and pork or both extremely tough and chewy. The selection of gluten free options for my wife were limited at best. I felt the selection for a high dollar buffet was one of the poorest I’ve ever experienced at a Disney buffet. Even the desert choices were definitely not up to Disney standards.
While I know and appreciate this was a character dinner, the amount of incessantly crying babies was beyond even the normal for a Disney buffet. The parents in our dining room were happy just to let their children scream in their chair while they continued eating.
One positive note, the Merlot wine from South Africa was an excellent choice I would highly recommend It.
Pros:
Had a great waiter and excellent wine choiceCons:

Lunch -
Food - My husband and I enjoyed the variety and liked everything we tried. The kids were cranky (2 10 y/os) and they liked almost nothing.
Setting was great.
Characters were very accessible - we were there very slow time of year.
Only disappointment is that there are no photographers at the character meals to take advantage of the photopass we spent a good $$ for.
I think we would try this for breakfast as i suspect there is a lot to choose from or when the kids are a bit older for lunch again.

We've always loved the breakfast here, but it always disappointed me that there was not a large variety of African inspired dishes. That is not the case for lunch! The selection at lunch has an array of delicious flavors. I was also pleased to see they have the Jungle Juice available at lunch as well.
Pros:
Great array of African flavors, great character interactionCons:

We only came to see the characters in a jungle environment. The food was basic and this will be the last trip where we eat anything buffet or family style. We never did see Minnie, we were lost in a corner but everyone else managed to visit except her. They seemed to run out of stuff quickly. It fills you up but is not a great food experience like others.

My family and I ate dinner here with a reservation on New Years Day. Being that it was a holiday, a number of places had already been booked so we kind of took this reservation as not much else was available.
I should point out that I am allergic to nuts. A chef came out to guide me through all the selections and he was very informative. My non allergic family just loaded up on what looked good. There was a very nice selection for all of us and most of the items tasted good. Some of the items had a bot of an exotic theme.
Now unfortunately for me almost all had the deserts had nuts so I had an alternative desert brought to me that was nut free and also taste free. Still we had a nice meal here so I'd give the place a positive rating.
Pros:
good varietyCons:

Tusker House is an excellent buffet in the Walt Disney Resort arsenal. We had a later reservation, but found ourselves an hour early (hunger and heat!) and asked if we could bump up. No problem and we were seated in 5 minutes. Waitress was a bit off, and kept forgetting our drinks (we were able to ask another waiter).
Food selection is great and there is something for everyone. Not a five star menu, but very tasty.
Seating is tight, and we ended up basically sitting with another family, which is fine, this is Disney right??? Characters come around for photo ops and autographs (so much better than standing in line in the heat)
Highly recommend, especially if you are on the dining plan. We tend to hit as many All you Can Eat as possible.
Pros:
Tons of choices, opportunity to try different tastes, characters, chefs handle allergies exceptionallyCons:
noisy, crowded seating, wait stuff was VERY busyReviewed by destinie Review Date: 03/02/2015

We did the Tusker House Breakfast buffet starring Mickey and Co. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about eating at Tusker House. I cannot eat Gluten and Dairy. When making the reservation I specified online and told the server. She called the Chef over who walked me around the offerings and told me what I could and could not eat. They have a separate station that is solely for gluten-free foods and other allergens. The cast members are eager to please and make fresh gluten and dairy-free Mickey Waffles. 🙂
The buffet offers typical light fares but also neat alternatives like tasty sweet potato dishes and roasted potatoes. There were also other types of meats available. Great food for the adult-types.
We had fun getting our pictures with Mickey and friends and the servers make sure that everyone gets to see ALL the characters. Even if you miss one they will be sure to help you meet one of them on your way out. They only let a few people into the restaurant at a time so it never got very crowded and we didn't have to wait in long lines for food.
It is a fun atmosphere. If you are looking for somewhere to eat that is not loud, however, I would not recommend breakfast at Tusker House. I thought it was a fun way to start the day at Animal Kingdom!
