Why Disney World Fans Need To Mark August 15th on Their Calendars

We’ll admit we were pretty sad when Muppets Courtyard closed in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to make way for a new Monsters, Inc. land. However, the Muppets did get to move over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and what we’ve learned so far about the new land has been pretty exciting.

Recently, Disney dropped some NEW details about the new land, including its story about how humans have been invited into Monstropolis (yes, that is the name of the new land) to see how things work. However, in revealing those details, Disney also dropped a clue on when we’ll learn even more about the new land: August 15th.

Disney recently revealed the story of Monstropolis and posted some pages of the Monstropolis Horn, the city’s official newspaper. The newspaper has a story about how the Department of Human Relations has approved a plan for a H.U.M.A.N. Day, where the city will open its doors to humans. Plus, it will give them a chance to use our laughter for energy. Look at the top two headlines, though. They are both on Page 8, Col. 15.

Now, we just happen to know that 8 and 15 refer to August 15th, which lands during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event where Disney always hosts a Disney Parks and Experiences Panel. This panel usually reveals some big announcements about upcoming Disney Parks projects. So we’re expecting that one of those announcements will be some big details about Monstropolis, perhaps even including an opening timeline. It’s likely we’ll also get more details about the new suspended roller coaster going into the land, as well, and maybe even more details about Harryhausen’s Restaurant.

If you didn’t get tickets to D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, though, don’t fret. This panel is generally livestreamed to the public, but we’ll also be covering all the big announcements. You’ll want to make sure you pay attention on August 15th to AllEars to get all the latest updates!
