Disney just got some major recognition for some of its most innovative work!
The Blooloop Innovation Awards, an annual awards program that celebrates creativity and technology in the visitor attractions industry, just took place! The awards recognize innovations in theme parks, museums, cruises, and other immersive experiences — and Disney got FIVE of them!
Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Live Entertainment just won five Blooloop Innovation Awards, being recognized for some groundbreaking designs and experiences. Let’s take a look at all the winners — starting from the 3rd place awards to 1st place!
Pixar Adventurous Journey — 3rd Place for Immersive Experiences
Pixar Adventurous Journey at Shanghai Disneyland took third place for the Immersive Experiences award. This experience is a walk-through attraction featuring some of your all-time favorite Pixar films. It includes Inside Out, Turning Red, Coco, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, and more!
Disney Tale of Moana — 3rd Place for Storytelling
“Disney Tale of Moana” got third place for the Storytelling award. This stage show takes place on the Disney Treasure and follows Moana on her epic journey. It’s the first-ever Moana stage show!
Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point — 3rd Place for Sustainability
Disney’s Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point got third place in the Sustainability award. Lookout Cay is the new private island that you can access by taking a Disney Cruise. Disney Imagineering put a lot of thought and care into the design of the island to protect ocean ecosystems and use all-natural materials.
Walt Disney – A Magical Life Audio Animatronic — 2nd Place for Immersive Attraction
The brand-new Walt Disney audio animatronic at Disneyland’s Walt Disney – A Magical Life won second place for the Immersive Attraction award. This award goes to attractions with an innovative use of technology. The show features the first-ever audio animatronic of Walt Disney.
Haunted Mansion Parlor — 1st Place for Retail and Dining
Disney Imagineering received the first-place award in Retail and Dining for the Haunted Mansion Parlor. The Haunted Mansion is a lounge on the new Disney Treasure themed after the iconic Haunted Mansion ride. It’s a fully immersive experience that will leave guests’ jaws dropped!
