We might not get over to the EPCOT-area resorts as much as we like, but one thing we love about that part of Disney World is that there are so many really good places to eat and drink.
So when we learned that there were new menu items at Martha’s Vineyard, one of the lounges at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, we decided to head on over there to try those new food and drinks out.
We love a good charcuterie plate, so we started with the Charcuterie and Artisanal Cheese Plate for $15. You get a selection of cheeses and seasonal accompaniments. The sausage on the plate was mildly spice with a firm texture. The prosciutto was wonderfully salty and chewy. The cheese was mild and well-balanced. We even got a sweet apricot and salted almonds (maybe a little TOO salted). The pita is soft and perfect for filling with the cheese, meat, and accompaniments.

We also tried the House Made Chips for $11. These are crispy potato chips with chili, cheese sauce, red onions, and tomatoes. You get some nice crispy chips that stay crispy even under all those toppings. The cheese sauce is cheesy and smooth. The chili is a bean chili. You do get diced tomatoes that add a nice brightness. We think these are going to end up being very popular.

The Red Pepper and Traditional Hummus is served with baby carrots, cucumbers, and torta for $10. First, neither hummus is super spicy, so kids are probably going to like it. The traditional hummus tastes just like regular hummus. The red pepper has a flavor that’s tangy and peppery. There are also some chunks of red pepper in it to keep the texture interesting. We liked the thin, crispy torta that has a flaky pastry-kind of texture. The veggies are also nice and fresh and pair well with the hummus.

The Shaved Beef Sliders are $15 and have pickled onions and horseradish cream served with house-made chips. One thing we noticed immediately is that you get a lot of thick-cut beef. That beef, though, was kinda’ cold when we ate it. The bottom bun also gets soggy from the meat. Our biggest complaint is that the beef needed more seasoning or salt. Most of the flavor comes from the pickled onions. Even the horseradish cream seemed muted.

There are also some new drinks to try at Martha’s Vineyard, so we tried those, too. We ordered the Spiced Dark ‘N Stormy, made with Goslings Black Seal Rum, Pineapple Syrup, Carpano Antica Formula Sweet Vermouth, Smoked Chili Bitters, and Ginger Beer for $17.50. This is a very rum forward drink, although you do get a mild taste of the pineapple syrup. The ginger adds some complexity that we really liked. We liked how the smoked chili bitters didn’t overpower the drink.

You can also order the Island Fusion Punch, made with Mount Gay Eclipse Rum, Minute Maid Passion Fruit Orange Guava Juice, and Pineapple and Lime Juices for $16.50. This is, obviously, a tropical drink. It’s very refreshing, and you get the pineapple and lime at the end of each sip.

And you will want to sip it because you can’t taste the alcohol at all. After a hot day in the parks, this is what you want to order so you can just sit back, sip, and relax.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for more new food and drinks in Disney World, so be sure to follow us for more reviews and Disney news.
