The day many Disney World visitors feared has finally arrived!

Magic Kingdom has already started its massive transformation as it prepares to start building its new Cars-themed area, and eventually a new Villains Land. If you’ve been to Magic Kingdom recently, you may have noticed something a lot of Disney fans were dreading — let’s take a look!
Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat have been closed for a little while now, and now the Rivers of America are starting to be drained! The river isn’t fully drained, but it is definitely drained a fair amount. You’ll see there is still a bit of water left, but it is mostly gone.

We must admit, this just looks strange — like, very strange! We haven’t seen a Frontierland like this for some time. We knew this was coming, but there wasn’t anything that could have prepared us to see the Rivers of America like this when the day finally came.

Near Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the ride section looks elevated in comparison to its surroundings because of the water being drained. It’s going to take a while to get used to this.

We aren’t great with estimations of how much water is gone, but this is a massive amount. We’re sitting here thinking about what it will look like when the water is ALL gone — we don’t think we’re ready for it.

Well, with the Rivers of America nearly being gone, we guess Frontierland will look “spooky” just in time for the spooky season. Mickey’s Not So-Scary-Halloween Party begins this week — yes, it’s already here! We’re so excited for everything the party is going to bring. We saw Magic Kingdom has already started putting up some decorations.

Disney really knows how to play with our emotions. On one hand, we were shocked and sad to see the Rivers of America go, but on the other, we’re getting excited for Halloween. There were pumpkins and orange banners decorated down Main Street, U.S.A.

You could see them at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlour and on top of some of the shops down Main Street. There wasn’t a lot of decorations up yet, so it was more of a tease of what’s coming this week!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs on select nights from August 15th through October 31st. This after-hours event requires a separate ticket and is full of unique entertainment, exclusive snacks, fun characters, and so much candy. You’re not going to want to miss it!

Magic Kingdom will be seeing a lot of guests with all the parties going on, and fans will be seeing a completely different version of the park. We’re going to have to start getting used to it…eventually. For more Disney news and updates, be sure to stay tuned to AllEars.

Another of Walts’ quality rides gone. The liberty Bell was a nice ride to enjoy some down time away from the crowds and let your imagination run as Walt intended. The new ride will last 2 minutes after an hours long wait leaving zero to imagination. Igers lack of imagination has once again removed more of Walts’ MAGIC from the park.
