There’s so much construction happening in Disney World’s theme parks right now. Magic Kingdom is getting an expansion and a new land. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting a new land, as well as a revamped area and a re-themed ride. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is getting a new land.

With all that happening in the parks, it’s easy to forget that Disney World is also building a brand new hotel, Lakeshore Lodge. We recently visited the site of the new hotel to see how construction is moving along.
The last time we got a good look at construction on the hotel, we saw some aerial photos showing that construction is coming right along. And it’s still coming right along. There are still a lot of cranes and construction equipment in the area.

Here’s a closer look at the hotel’s main structure, which seems to be close to completion, at least from what we can see above construction walls. The triangular beams could be the structure for cabins (although we’re not sure).

Here’s another look at workers building the hotel.

Disney originally announced this hotel in 2018 as Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge, and it sits on Bay Lake between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground on the land that was once the River Country water park. In 2019, though, Disney removed all references to the hotel from its website, leaving everyone to believe the project was cancelled. However, Disney recently announced the hotel would begin construction and be called Lakeshore Lodge.

Lakeshore Lodge will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” It will also be a Disney Vacation Club resort with more than 900 rooms, including cabin-like rooms that appear up in the trees.

Lakeshore Lodge is expected to open sometime in 2027. Interested in booking a Disney World trip now? We recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. Everything Announced (So Far) for Disney’s New Lakeshore Lodge Hotel
What do you think? Will you be booking a stay at Lakeshore Lodge when it opens? Let us know in the comments!

Booking a stay would be contingent on cash price and DVC points! The new Poly add on is out of reach. Based on that, I’m guessing the cost will be equivalent. Of so, then NO, my family will not be staying there!
