This week begins the major overhaul of a favorite EPCOT ride!

Several Disney World attractions are getting closer to re-opening, but Test Track is coming to a close. But that’s not the only ride that you won’t be able to ride this week in Disney World! Several other rides, attractions, and restaurants will remain closed this week.
Test Track
Disney announced that Test Track will be getting reimagined! Besides some concept art, we don’t know much about what this will all entail.

We know that the ride will continue to be a partnership with Chevrolet and that they will be taking some inspiration from the EPCOT original ride World of Motion. Regardless, you will no longer be able to ride the ride as it currently is as of June 17th. The ride will remain closed for an unknown amount of time, so if you want to ride a fast and exciting ride in EPCOT, grab a virtual queue boarding group for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind!
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Splash Mountain closed on January 23rd, 2023, and the new ride taking its place will open on June 28th!

Disney has re-themed the ride to give it a Princess and the Frog theme, and it is called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! We finally got to ride it, and now we’re excited for you all to as well! Disney has also shared a look at new characters coming to the ride!

We can’t wait until it opens on June 28th! Plus, Annual Passholders, DVC members, Cast Members, and D23 Gold Members will have the opportunity to preview it early. We don’t know about you, but we’re getting EXCITED!

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Disney’s Hollywood Studios closed on January 8th and will remain closed for a pretty long time. The ride is finally opening on July 28th, so we only have a little while longer to wait!

If you’ve missed this ride as much as we have be sure to be in Hollywood Studios on or after July 27th!
It’s Official! A NEW Pixar Character Is Meeting at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
There are many other attractions still closed this week in Disney World. Let’s check out what will be closed from May 16th through May 23rd!
Magic Kingdom
Country Bear Jamboree
Country Bear Jamboree is still being reimagined in Magic Kingdom! The show closed on January 27th and should reopen with the new, updated show sometime this summer.

A recent permit filed sure makes it seem like some work is certainly going on over here. Plus, Disney recently shared a sneak peek at some new costumes and the new music coming to the show!

If you want to celebrate this attraction, check out this Collectible Plush Set on Amazon!

The set features three Country Bears: Teddi Barra, Big Al, and Henry.
Tomorrowland Terrace
Tomorrowland Terrace in Magic Kingdom has only ever been open occasionally, usually during particularly busy seasons. However, it’s been a LONG time since we’ve seen this spot open.

Currently, it’s only used for Magic Kingdom dessert parties.

EPCOT
Restaurant Marrakesh
Restaurant Marrakesh is kind of closed and kind of not. The restaurant will soon be used as an Annual Passholder lounge during the V.I.Passholder Days!

Passholders can visit the lounge from May 1st through June 18th, 2024 at Restaurant Marrakesh. However, we’re still waiting for the full dining experience to return!

Disney Vacation Club Lounge
The DVC lounge at the Imagination pavilion closed for refurbishment on June 2nd.

The lounge will be closed until July 13th, but while it’s closed DVC members can use the temporary lounge located at the Odyssey pavilion. These exclusive lounges offer a place for members to hang out and relax while recharging their phones and themselves. Food and beverages are offered, but remember to go to the Odyssey pavilion for the next few weeks.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
The Voyage of the Little Mermaid as we know it will NOT return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s closed now, and Disney has confirmed that this show has permanently closed to make way for an updated version.

“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure”, an all-new stage show, will replace the show in the Animation Courtyard theater in Fall 2024.

Blizzard Beach
Typhoon Lagoon was closed for several months but finally opened on March 17th, 2024! Woo hoo!

However, on that same day (March 17th) Blizzard Beach closed for refurbishments. Since it just closed, we do not know when it will reopen again, but since 2020 we’ve noticed that the two water parks will flip-flop being open.

That means that even though we’re getting closer to summer, we may only have one option of water parks to go to. We’ll be watching for news of Blizzard Beach reopening, but this summer head over to Typhoon Lagoon!
