NEWS: Disney Turns Cast Members Away During Tiana's Bayou Adventure Previews Due to Ride Issues

The secret’s out! We know allll about Magic Kingdom’s new water ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (it’s also the Splash Mountain replacement). We’ve seen INSIDE the ride, talked about what’s missing from the ride, and even listened to all the new songs. And more ride previews are coming soon!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

In fact, on June 1st, Magic Kingdom hosted some special Cast Member ride previews just for a small group of Disney employees. But during our visit to Magic Kingdom that same day, we noticed some issues.

Disney reserved June 1st for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride previews. More specifically, previews were open to contracted Cast Members and Walt Disney Imagineering employees.

Note that Disney previously confirmed Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club members, and D23 Members can also ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure before its official opening date on June 28th. But first, Disney Cast Members get early access to the ride.

Disney World theme park Cast Members can attend Cast Member previews on June 3rd through the 7th and June 23rd through the 26th. Each Cast Member is allowed to bring a maximum of two people with them.

Now, during our visit to Magic Kingdom on June 1st, we expected to see (and hear) some happy Cast Members flying down the big hill. But when we stopped by to check it out, we noticed Cast Members were being turned away.

Upon further investigation, we learned that the ride had not been able to accommodate any guests. Cast Members visiting for the ride preview were told to keep checking back every hour, but the ride was down all morning.

Over in the ride queue, we noticed what looked like some sort of minor damage on one of the screens. We’ll look out for changes!

We’re hoping Disney is able to get the ride fixed before the end of the day — especially with more ride previews scheduled for the next few days.

UPDATE: As of 2:45PM, we spotted Cast Members at the attraction! It seems like Disney was able to resolve te issue for now. We’ll keep our eyes out for updates.
