We've Got to WARN You About Pirates of the Caribbean in Disney World Right Now

Ride closures can really mess up your Disney day.

It’s important to be able to go with the flow and realize that these things are going to happen on your vacation, but that doesn’t mean they won’t still be a bummer. If you’re headed into Magic Kingdom soon, we want to give you the heads-up that this ride may give you a lot of trouble.

There are a few rides in Magic Kingdom that break down frequently, and one of them is Pirates of the Caribbean. And after being down most of the day on August 4th, the ride was down all day again on August 5th.

Pirates is closed

Just recently, the ride was closed for an extended period of time on July 31st, too. Be sure to check the My Disney Experience app during your visit to see if the ride reopens.

We asked some Cast Members if they could share what was happening, but we were told they are unsure of the exact cause, though it’s likely due to a technical problem.

The Auction Scene Has Changed Over the Years

This is a fairly popular ride in the park, which makes this closure even more unfortunate. We hope whatever the issue is gets resolved soon because we want everyone to be able to experience the adventure of Pirates of the Caribbean!
