3 Ways to Make Your Next Orlando Airport Trip LESS Complicated

But today we’re talking about how to make your next trip to Orlando Airport easier and less stressful! Because who wants to be stressed before/after a vacation?!

Pre-Schedule Your Ride to the Airport

Disney’s Magical Express (a free transportation option to and from Disney World hotels and Orlando Airport) was officially discontinued and replaced with services like Mears Connect and Sunshine Flyer. But did you know that even if you opt out of bus services like that, you can still pre-schedule your ride to the airport?

On rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft, you can schedule a ride and driver ahead of time! This can help alleviate some of that stress when you’re running late and trying to find an Uber to the airport.

How does it work? Head into the app and on the homepage, hit the “Reserve” button. You can schedule up to 90 days in advance and cancel your ride up to 60 minutes in advance with no penalty or extra charge.

Let’s say you have a flight that takes off at 5PM, you want to get to the airport two hours early, and you’re a 30 minute drive away at Disney World. You can go into the rideshare app of your choice and schedule a ride for 2:30PM (or 2:15PM if you want to be extra safe ?).

Once you schedule a ride, a driver should be assigned to you in advance so you know what vehicle to expect. This is a super easy way to get ahead with your travel and take one thing off your plate on the day of!

Is Uber the Cheapest Way to Get to Disney World From the Orlando Airport?

Purchase Pre-Check

You don’t have to leave it up to fate on whether you get pre-check or not — TSA Pre-Check is actually available to purchase! That way you can have pre-check every single time you fly.

It’s simple. Just head to the TSA website and apply there. You’ll schedule an in-person appointment that includes a background check and fingerprinting. It costs $78 for new enrollment or in-person renewals and $70 for online renewals.

Once you are approved, you will get a Known Traveler Number (KTN) that you can add to any flight reservation. After paying the fee, it will lasts for 5 years — then you can renew online and pay the fee again.

With pre-check, you do not have to remove liquids, take large electronics out, or take your shoes off. Just send your bags through, walk under the security machine, and you’re done!

Although it is an additional cost, it takes SO much of the stress away from traveling, especially if you are a frequent flyer. If you’ve seen Orlando Airport security lines, you know that they are no joke, but imagine skipping that line! You’d be in for a much more relaxed trip.

Skip the Security Line

If you don’t want to pay the fee for pre-check, there is a way to skip the regular security line at Orlando International Airport. The name you’ll want to remember is MCO Reserve — it can save you a lot of time and stress!

The program allows you to pre-register for a time slot to go through security. When you get to the airport, you’ll have access to an exclusive (and shorter!) MCO Reserve security line. 

Reservations open up 72 hours before your flight and we recommend grabbing one as soon as possible — these can fill up very quickly because spots are limited!
