We’ve got some big news for Star Wars fans!
Star Wars just announced a brand-new movie called The Mandalorian & Grogu that will take the story of The Mandalorian from Disney+ to the big screen. In the announcement, we got a clue about another popular TV show.
Ahsoka debuted on Disney+ in August 2023 and it was a hit on the streaming service. Now, we know the show is getting another season!
The new Mandalorian & Grogu movie is said to be leading Lucasfilm’s future-development slate, “including films helmed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni, who is also currently developing Ahsoka Season 2, among those in the works.”
We still don’t have any details on a timeline or a release date, but we’ll be on the lookout for that information to emerge.
It’s pretty typical for high-performing shows on Disney+ to get another season, especially in the Star Wars universe (see The Mandalorian and Bad Batch), but it wasn’t certain, especially with all of the show cancelations we’ve seen recently.
