Disney has had a lot of excitement this week.

We’ve celebrated a big milestone at EPCOT, we’ve learned more about another big milestone for the entire Disney company, and we’ve got even MORE news to tell you about this week. So in case you missed the biggest stories, here you go.

Disney World Holidays

We are so ready for the holiday season in Disney World, especially the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, and for those who are looking to guarantee a good seat for the Candlelight Processional this year, you need to know this: reservations are now open for the Candlelight Processional dining package.

Each package includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert, or (if applicable) 1 full buffet, plus a non-alcoholic beverage. The price varies on where you choose to eat, but you can get full details here.

How Reedy Creek is Preparing for Dissolution

If you’ve been keeping up with the Reedy Creek Dissolution situation, you’re probably wondering if there’s a plan for dissolving Disney’s special governing body for Disney World. Although Florida Governor Ron DeSantis still has not outlined the actual plan, the Reedy Creek Improvement District recently “approved a plan to ease concerns from one of its top power providers.”

The power provider, Duke Energy Florida LLC, has been worried about the district’s ability to pay its debts after its dissolution next year, so this new plan involves “a reimbursement agreement with Truist Bank for a $3 million letter of credit in favor of Duke Energy.” This means that all of Reedy Creek’s debts are paid through May 2023.

Updates Coming to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is getting an upgrade — rather, some of its rooms are getting a makeover. Some of the rooms in the Trinidad area of the resort are getting updates inspired by “fan-favorite characters from under the sea.”

The new rooms will open in 2023, so keep an eye out for more updates!

EPCOT’s 40th Anniversary

EPCOT celebrated its 40th anniversary on October 1st, and we were there to enjoy the celebration. First, there was a ton of new merchandise released, which led to LONG merchandise lines on the day. We got a commemorative map and poster, though, for free.

There were a lot of new snacks to try and a fun MagicShot, too. We also enjoyed a special Spaceship Earth Beacons of Magic show honoring Illuminations, Figment, and Walt Disney.

The MASSIVE Changes We’ve Seen in 40 Years at EPCOT

Disneyland News

With Walt Disney’s 100th anniversary coming up, we got some news about how Disneyland will celebrate. The celebration begins in Disneyland on January 27th, 2023, and will bring special food, entertainment, and more to the parks. Also, Sleeping Beauty Castle is getting a special 100th anniversary upgrade.

We also got an opening date for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disneyland — it will also open on January 27th.

However, Disney did announce that park pass reservations are currently paused for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure for all dates after January 8th.
