Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway already exists in Disney World, but did you know it’s also coming to Disneyland?
The ride is part of the big Toontown transformation in Disneyland Park, and it was originally expected to open in Disneyland in 2022, although COVID-19 caused delays. Both Toontown and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway have previously been projected to open sometime in 2023, and now we have an official opening date for the ride!
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be officially opening in Toontown on January 27th, 2023!
Thus far, Disney has only noted that the updated version of Mickey’s Toontown will reopen to guests in spring 2023. We’ll be looking for a more official date on that!
As far as we know, the ride will be mostly the same as the version in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Disney World, but the Imagineers are working on making some unique adjustments to the ride so it fits in well with the story of Mickey’s Toontown.
According to a Walt Disney Imagineering post on Instagram, the Disneyland version of the ride will actually have an exhibit in the queue that’ll feature props and costumes from the toon world!
