NEWS! Disneyland’s Version of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Has Been Delayed!

Disneyland Resort’s two theme parks are still closed at this time, although construction has been ongoing for the past few months. Two highly anticipated projects are Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disneyland.

The family-friendly dark ride opened in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in March of this year, one week before the closures began. While construction is moving along on the west coast, we just learned that the grand opening of the attraction will be delayed.

Disneyland shared an exciting construction update on their Instagram account, where the steel structure of the ride has officially gone vertical! However, in the caption, we saw that the ride is “coming to Disneyland park in 2023”, which is one year after its originally scheduled opening timeline.

Disneyland is approaching the six month mark of its historic closure, which began on March 14th, 2020. At this time there is no announced reopening date for the theme parks. We also do not know the full status of Avengers Campus, which was originally scheduled to open on July 18th but was pushed due to the closures.

We have seen progress on this project, however. Recently we heard about the Quinjet arriving to California Adventure, signaling that work is moving along.

We’ll continue to keep a close watch on these two projects, as well as the status of the Disneyland Resort’s grand reopening!
