Today, Disney revealed that Disney’s Hollywood Studios will not be the only park welcoming Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! Because guess what?

The attraction is ALSO coming to Disneyland in 2022!
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is now set to open in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2020. (It originally had a late 2019 opening date.)

Two short years later, in 2022, this first major Mickey-themed ride-through attraction will open in Mickey’s Toontown. Disney shared that the ride will “put you inside the wacky and unpredictable world of a Mickey Mouse cartoon short where anything can happen!”
Disney also shared an Instagram photo of Mickey, Minnie, and Disneyland Resort President Josh D’Amaro getting a sneak peek of the plans.

Disney revealed that the plans for the attraction include an original story and lovable theme song. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will use state-of-the-art technology and stunning visual effects to transform the attraction into an immersive multi-dimensional experience.
“Once you step into the cartoon world of Mickey and Minnie, you’ll board a train with Goofy as the engineer. Then, one magical moment after the next leads you to a zany, out-of-control adventure filled with surprising twists and turns.” Doesn’t this sound like a great new Disney adventure?
We are so excited to experience this new ride opportunity and cannot wait to see how Disney Imagineers create such a unique attraction!

How long will this ride take start to finish to ride?
What will they be removing/closing in Toon Town to make room for this attraction?
Ok, now I’m bummed. I was looking forward to experiencing this during our December 2019 trip. Dang it.
