To ensure we are equipping our readers with all the information they need, we will continue to report on all travel, safety, and COVID-related news that could impact a Disney Parks visit.

It may seem hard to believe, but Disneyland is approaching its one-year reopening anniversary in late April 2022. In less than a year, the park has introduced a new FastPass replacement system, unveiled the Avengers Campus, and created a new Annual Pass system.

Although there are several additions to the Disney parks in Anaheim California, Disneyland is still not entirely back to normal.

Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock recently commented on the park’s reopening process, explaining in a quote to The Orange County Register, “We’re still not staffed up all the way.”

As Disneyland continues to hire more Cast Members “every single week,” the parks are easing health & safety requirements and bringing back traditional character meet and greets.

Disneyland is working to return to “normal”

Currently, Disneyland has hired and rehired about 28,000 Cast Members; about 10,000 of those hired are new to the company, as reported by The Orange County Register. In total, Disneyland has about 30,000 Cast Members between its parks and resorts, which is still about 2,000 total employees less than before the pandemic.

Potrock further noted, “We’re never going to be back to where we were until those 10,000 people truly have it in their DNA as to what their role and what their mission is as we begin to go forward,” according to The Orange County Register.

There are still some major projects in progress in Disneyland, too!

When describing Disneyland’s reopening procedure, Potrock said, “We’re more than halfway through it, but we’ve got another year,” in a quote to The Orange County Register.
