What a week! If you’ve been following all the latest from Disney, you already know that this was a pretty major week in terms of news and updates.

We’ve been going non-stop trying to cover everything happening with Disney news this week: from getting you ALL the details about EPCOT’s newest ride to sharing how you can win free tickets to Disneyland to getting seriously pumped up about the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. So what are the BIGGEST news stories of the week? Keep reading to find out!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Sneak Peek
We had an opportunity to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT at a press event, and we’ve been sharing everything we can about the new attraction. That includes a first look at the queue and information about whether the ride will give you motion sickness (spoiler — it might).

We’ve even had a look at a LOT of the merchandise that will be available in the attraction’s gift shop, Treasures of Xandar (and, yes — you will be able to buy Yondu’s mohawk and a whistling dart that actually reacts when you whistle). Here’s something you’ll also need to know — you can only get access to the ride via a virtual queue or by purchasing a pass to skip the line with Disney’s Pay-Per-Ride system.

What EPCOT’s World Celebration Will Look Like
EPCOT has been undergoing a MASSIVE transformation over the past several years, and Disney has finally offered us a sneak peek at what World Celebration will look like when the construction is finally finished. First, World Celebration “will offer a beautiful hub divided into several different gardens, with a central planter based on the five-ring EPCOT logo.”

World Celebration will also house a festival hub, which is actually made up of 2 spots: CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza (as seen in the upper right corner of the following concept art). CommuniCore Hall will be an indoor space built specifically for festival programs. Communicore Plaza will be an outdoor area that can host a concert stage for live music.

The gardens in this area will offer some much-needed shade to EPCOT, with each garden having its own theme. And Disney has said that the gardens will light up at night with controllable lighting similar to that on Spaceship Earth.

New Moana Attraction Concept Art
That’s not all that’s happening over at EPCOT, though — a new Moana-inspired attraction is also being built. Disney released new concept art for Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana. The concept art outlines some of the water features the attraction will have, along with where some jumping fountains and covered structures will be.

Disney has still not shared an opening timeline for the attraction, but we’ll continue to monitor its progress.

Imagineers Working on ‘Encanto’ Attraction
Encanto composer Lin-Manuel Miranda recently revealed that not only has he spoken to Imagineers about an Encanto-themed attraction at Disney Parks, but the Imagineers “are on it.”

We don’t have any further details, but Miranda did previously mention something like a walk-through of the casita seen in the movie. Frozen star Josh Gad even suggested a Colombia pavilion at EPCOT. So we’ll have to wait and see what Disney has in mind for the attraction!

Marvel Changes Premiere Dates For Two Movies
Although we had release dates for two big Marvel movies in 2023, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels, the premiere dates for both films have changed. The Marvels was originally set to release on February 17th, 2023, and Quantumania was set to release on July 28th, 2023.

Now, though, these dates have switched. Quantumania will now release in February 2023 and The Marvels won’t release until July 2023.
