We want to stop talking about Bruno, but we can’t. Disney’s Encanto is too big of a success to not talk about!
Disney’s latest animated hit, Encanto, has taken the world by storm, bringing home awards and breaking records since the film’s release in late 2021. The success of Encanto begs the question of sequels, prequels, and other film spin-offs, but one Encanto creative has his eyes set on the Disney Parks, and he just confirmed that something is in the works!
Back in February, Encanto‘s songwriter, Lin-Manuel Miranda, said that he wanted to see an Encanto attraction in the Disney Parks. He mentioned a walk-through of the film’s iconic casita, and Frozen star Josh Gad has even said he wanted to see a whole Colombia pavilion in EPCOT inspired by the movie. And, it looks like it could be happening!
In an interview at the Hispanic Federation’s Annual Gala, Lin-Manuel Miranda confirmed that his wishes were being granted and an Encanto attraction is in development! He doesn’t know any details but said, “The Imagineers are on it,” according to Insider.
While this will be Encanto‘s first attraction, it’s not the first time the beloved movie has shown up in the Disney Parks. EPCOT’s festivals have featured a fan favorite Encanto-themed booth, and the finale to Disneyland’s revamped Main Street Electrical Parade featured Mirabel and Antonio.
Plus, guests can meet Mirabel herself or ensure that “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is stuck in their heads for the rest of the night with the limited-time projections show on the façade of “it’s a small world” in Disneyland.
