What do you do when a ride has an unexpected mishap or malfunction at Disney World?
Maybe you don’t think a ride evacuation would ever happen to you, but it happens more often than you think. And, this morning, one of the most popular rides at Magic Kingdom was evacuated — here’s what happened!
As we were making our way around Frontierland this morning, we couldn’t hear quite as many screams coming from Splash Mountain and when we passed by we noticed that the log flumes were empty.
Upon closer look, we were able to see that a Cast Member was actively evacuating the ride, assisting guests out of one of the logs.
We walked around to the entrance and noticed that both the standby and lightning lane queues were closed with Cast Members standing by to inform guests of the ride’s closure.
Later, we checked the My Disney Experience app, and Splash Mountain was back up and running with a 65-minute standby wait time.
If this happens to you and you’re on a ride being evacuated, the most important thing you can do is to listen to Cast Members and follow their directions. And, be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for more of the latest Disney news and updates!
