One of the only sad things about going on a trip to Disney World is leaving your pets behind. Thankfully, Disney has us covered when we want to make sure our four-legged friends can take a vacation too!

Disney World has so many incredible resorts to stay in like the Grand Floridian, the Port Orleans Resorts, or Disney’s Boardwalk, but there’s one resort that specializes in animal care, and we’re not talking about the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Best Friends Pet Care is a pet boarding center in Disney World that allows guests to leave their pets at their very own resort! Service animals are the only animals allowed in the theme parks, water parks, Disney Springs, and Disney Transportation, but this program lets your pets get a luxurious Disney vacation.

Best Friends Pet Care offers day care and overnight boarding for pets of all shapes and sizes! Their facility includes:
- 17,000 square feet of indoor space
- 10,000 square feet of covered outdoor areas
- A 25,000 square-foot dog park
The facility is open an hour before the parks open until an hour after they close, so you can check in on them without missing any time in the parks!

Best Friends offers overnight and day care with tons of different packages to fit your pet’s needs! For overnight stays, dog owners can choose between:
- VIP Luxury Suites–a 226-square-foot suite package which includes 2 potty walks, 2 play groups with other dogs, a tv, webcam, and a bath if your dog stays longer than 3 days. They’ll even read your dog a bedtime story!
- Vacation Villas– This 72-square-foot suite package with 1 potty walk, 1 play group, a tv, and a turndown biscuit at the end of the day.
- Indoor/Outdoor Suite– a 32-to-48-square-foot suite package with 1 potty walk.
- Indoor Suite — This 36-square-foot suite package includes 2 potty walks.

If you have a cat, you can choose between a 2 level or 4 level condo, and smaller pets can be accommodated as long as you bring an enclosure and your animal isn’t venomous.

There are tons of activities and amenities for your animals at Best Friends! For dogs, there’s Playgroup, Playtime, Cuddle Time, Walk & Explore, Bottled Water, Bedtime Story, Ice-Cream Break, Holiday Meal, and Premium Beds! Cats can get Playtime, Cookies & Milk, Tuna on a Ritz, Activity Toy, or a Deluxe Kitty Bed!

If you don’t want to leave your animal over night, or just need someone to watch them while you’re in the parks, Best Friends Pet Care offers day care with the same amenities as the overnight programs, and now, for a limited time, you can take them back to your resort with you!

Disney’s dog-friendly pilot program lets you take your pet to one of four Disney resorts, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, or The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort. All of these resorts have easy access to outdoor walkways and pet-relief spaces. You’ll also get a Pluto Welcome Kit for your dog upon arrival.

As of right now, only 2 dogs are allowed per suite at the resorts. Dogs are expected to be leashed, properly behaved, and fully vaccinated!

If you’ve been dying to take your dog on your next Disney World vacation, they’ve got you covered! Keep in mind that there are a few dog-friendly hotels at Disney World as well, with four hotels offering dog-friendly accommodations:
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
- Disney Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
- The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort
Each of these hotels have designated floors and sections that are dog-friendly, though dogs are still not permitted in certain areas. Additionally, non-service dogs are not permitted in theme parks, water parks, or common areas.
