Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios won’t be the only way to travel into a galaxy far, far away soon!

The new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Hotel is set to open in Disney World in 2022 and be the first hotel of its kind. Guests will hop on a transport pod to board the Halcyon starcruiser where they will stay for 2-nights and get to experience everything from new restaurants to Jedi training to epic battles between fan-favorite characters. And, now we have even more details to share — including an opening timeline!
We’ve already shared details about some of the dining experiences, staterooms, characters, and activities that you’ll encounter onboard, but it turns out that there will be WAY more to explore!
A group of Disney Imagineers that have been working on the project for 6 years gathered to share more details about the hotel and we’ve got a lot to unpack!

The whole experience is set to be similar to a cruise, so guests will arrive at the Galactic Starcruiser Terminal on the first day of their adventure and be transported to the Halcyon through a launch pod. And, immediately when you get onto the ship, your journey begins!

The day will start out with a muster talking about what you will see as you sail throughout the galaxy over the next 2 days and 2 nights and then immediately guests will start to meet new characters on the ships.

There will be Lightsaber Training, Bridge Training, and way more to explore and keep you busy even on day one!

And, when it comes to meals, well, like a cruise, they’re included! So, you’ll be able to stop into the dining locations and pick up all of the new unique creations that Disney chefs have brought to life.

And, dinner on the first day will include a performance — from an alien. Based on Disney’s concept art that has been released, this will likely take place in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room.

The rest of the story will unfold over the 2 days that guests are onboard (where they can create allies, go on scavenger hunts, and even find a secret part of the ship) and, it sounds like we might stumble upon a couple of battles. One of the Imagineers shared that the Halcyon (which is the name of the starcruiser) is a “glamorous starcruiser and is ready to meet anything that might come about in the galaxy.”

Of course, there’s also a stop on the planet of Batuu (aka Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios) where guests will be able to experience the land like never before. And, the story will go far beyond the attractions, shops, and experiences on the planet! Onboard guests will learn about the local merchants and even the buyer of the coaxium you need to gather on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

And, you can learn all about these exciting new updates and more in the full video below!
