Another quick service location has reopened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Upon reopening, Walt Disney World limited the number of available restaurants on the property. Slowly, more locations have been reopening with modified experiences and menus. We reported earlier that ABC Commissary will reopen today, October 8th. We stopped into the newly reopened counter-service restaurant to see how it’s changed and try out some of the new menu items!
Mobile Order is encouraged at all quick service restaurants. There was a sign located outside the door that allowed us to scan a QR code and order from our phone. We ordered from the My Disney Experience app and waited for our order to be ready.

Once we got the notification, we headed inside and showed a Cast Member our order. Similar to other quick service locations, they directed us to a designated pick-up station to grab our food. There were physical distancing markers leading to the pick-up counter…

…and labels projected on the menu screens indicating the station numbers.

In some restaurants, Cast Members hand you condiments. Others, including ABC Commissary, have the condiments available in bins for self-serving.

The beverage station is not self-serve, however. Like most other Disney locations, a Cast Member was filling up drinks for guests at the beverage station.

Once we got our food, we headed to the main dining area. Some seating was unavailable to allow for physical distancing between guests. The booth seating was marked off and chairs were placed in front of the benches.

There was still plenty of seating and large tables for bigger parties!

Now for the fun part…the food! As part of the reopening process, ABC Commissary got a massive menu overhaul. There are currently no red meat dishes on the menu and it was stocked with chicken, pork, and seafood dishes. Here’s a sample of the main entree menu.

We decided to try the Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich and french fries for $10.99. We were pleasantly surprised with the new menu item! It was a cheesy, chicken delight and the french fries were satisfyingly salty. We were happy to have a side of Buffalo Sauce because the sandwich didn’t come with quite enough.

We noticed a lot of other dishes looked just as good. The menu has been given a huge update and it seems like some of the entrees have seen quite an improvement from past menu items!

Overall, our experience at the newly reopened ABC Commissary was pleasant and the food was tasty. It’s one of the few quick service locations at Disney World that offers air conditioning as well! Hopefully, the newly reopened ABC Commissary can accommodate more guests while the crowds continue to increase. We’ll continue to stop by Hollywood Studios to check out all the new eats and updates!
