The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has now been extended the No Sail Order for cruise ships twice since March.
Previously, the No Sail Order was set to expire yesterday, September 30th. Disney Cruise Line and other cruise ships have already canceled departures through this date and beyond. The CDC has now extended the No Sail Order, banning more cruise ship sail dates.
The No Sail Order has been extended through October 31st, 2020. Meaning, no cruise ships are allowed to sail until at least November 1st. The CDC could rescind or extend this date at any time.
The director of the CDC, Robert Redfield, previously insisted that the no-sail order be extended all the way to February of 2021. All the while, the Miami-Dade County Mayor urged officials not to extend it any further than September. We’ll continue to inform you whether the No Sail Order will be extended in the future.
