We’re live from Disney’s newest cruise ship, the Disney Adventure! This cruise has been so fun – YouTube videos incoming! – but one of our favorite parts has been experiencing the attractions at sea.

Yep — you read that right: ATTRACTIONS. As in rides. Like full-blown theme park rides. On a cruise ship!
Aboard the Disney Adventure, you’ll get a little bit of that theme park feeling at Marvel Landing, which is basically a miniature version of Avengers Campus…at sea. Yes, there will be rides, including a fun Groot-themed ride.

Groot Galaxy Spin blasts you into an “awesome mix of high-soaring feats and bass-boosted beats.” On the ride, Rocket and Groot have taken a bunch of parts from their ship, and they’ve combined those parts to make a spinning DJ platform.

Out front, there’s a sign with a wait time posted, as well as a decent-sized queue for when things get more crowded.

We found this to be very similar to a Dumbo the Flying Elephant-style spinner attraction. You do a couple of laps in a circle, and you can raise or lower your vehicle.

It’s important to note that unlike other Dumbo-style rides, this one DOES have a height requirement. You must be at least 32 inches (81 centimeters) tall to ride. Those under the age of 7 must ride with someone 14 or older. Guests using mobility devices will need to transfer to the ride vehicle.

There’s not a ton of thrill to it, but the soundtrack and the commentary from Rocket make it more fun overall. Guardians of the Galaxy fans will appreciate it, and it’s fairly family-friendly in terms of excitement level. Ultimately, it’s not a must-do, but it’s a really fun addition to the ship and a great way to fill your day.

Stay tuned for more ride reviews from the Disney Adventure, as well as all our other shenanigans on the ship!
