NEWS: This Popular Snack Stand Just Closed in Magic Kingdom

We are saying farewell to a Magic Kingdom staple, and we’re pretty bummed.

Closed

We heard rumors of Westward Ho and Big Al’s closing down in Frontierland, but when Big Al’s officially closed, we knew the rumors were turning true. While Big Al’s and the churro cart went first, we are now saying goodbye to Westward Ho.

As of June 22nd, Westward Ho has officially closed down in Magic Kingdom. This closure is likely due to the major construction happening in the area.

Frontierland is getting a huge makeover with Tom Sawyer Island being turned into Piston Peak, the Cars-themed area with two attractions and a whole lot of Pixar fun. While the island has been closed for a bit and construction walls are all along the old Rivers of America, with these stands closing, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the walls move closer to the walkways.

Walls and walls

Disney hasn’t announced an opening date for Piston Peak, but we’re hoping it will come within the next few years. While Disney is working hard to bring Cars to life, what about all your Westward Ho treats?

Some of the snacks are moving to other locations! Candied Bacon Skewer is available at Golden Oak Outpost, which is the biggest snack we were worried about. Oof, what a relief!
