Disney is building a new Tropical Americas–themed land in Animal Kingdom, which is already well under construction.

Pueblo Esperanza, at the former site of DinoLand U.S.A., already has some new buildings and rides being built. What we didn’t expect right now, though? Even more news about the land!
Disney Imagineering recently filed Notice of Commencement permits to install interior set elements on the Encanto attraction. This work will likely include large scenic details, show sets, and other themed elements to transform the ride building into the Madrigals’ home.

The unnamed Encanto ride will take you through the Madrigals’ house during the part of the movie where Antonio receives his gift! Based on concept art, it looks like most of the ride will be set in either the rainforest or the Madrigals’ home. We can’t wait to see what the ride interior looks like once it’s all come together.

The Encanto set installation is with Mecca Productions Inc, a full-service design, fabrication, and installation firm specializing in theme park and television sets and props. They’re a frequent collaborator with Disney, currently working on Pueblo Esperanza’s Indiana Jones ride, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad‘s refurbishment, and the rethemed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.

Construction on the ride is underway, with the bulk of the building already constructed. They’ve built the structural elements, including steel beams and a foundation. Soon, they’ll install walls and floors, then the fun ride parts will be next!

We’re so excited to see what the land will look like when it opens in 2027. Stay tuned to All Ears for more Disney World news!
