Latest Update on Disney’s New ‘Encanto’ Ride and Tropical Americas Land

While walking around the construction just to get to DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus is a bit of a hassle right now, we just got a look at all the work happening behind the green walls, and it does have us excited for what’s to come!

In less than one month, the rest of DinoLand, U.S.A. will be gone, and the entire land will undergo its transformation into The Tropical Americas. But how are things going so far? Thanks to @bioreconstruct, who flies over the construction site often, we’ve got a new look at what’s going on, and we’ve gotta admit — we’re pretty impressed!

From these photos, it’s hard to get an idea of just how LARGE the ride building for the Encanto ride is, but I just saw it for the first time myself, and even though it’s pretty far back from the walls, it’s MASSIVE. The ride building looks to be coming along very well, and that crane is certainly hard at work.

Here, you can see some of the spots that are still open to guests, but on February 9th, they’ll be behind walls just like everything else. Right now, walking to Restaurantosaurus and DINOSAUR takes about 5 minutes longer than usual, so it’s certainly a trek, but for those who adore the attraction, it’s worth it.

At the very top of the photo below, you can see where the entrance to this land will be. Behind it is where the new carousel attraction will be going (formerly part of The Boneyard). The walkway in between the sections of the land will be closed to guests in a few weeks, likely making construction slightly easier for the crews.

Want a closer look at that carousel site? It looks like things are moving along well, but it’s difficult to see exactly where the carousel will be placed at this time.
