While sometimes we don’t get any heads up about what construction projects are coming soon to Disney World, there are other times that we DO get a bit of a clue, all thanks to permits!

We keep an eye on all of Disney World’s latest permits to get an idea of what small construction projects (or sometimes LARGE construction projects) are on the way. As it turns out, Disney just filed THREE new permits for projects all over the resort — here’s what you’ll want to be on the lookout for!
Starting out with the Disney World hotels, Port Orleans Resort will be seeing some work being done, but it may not be visible to guests. The contractor listed is WWGay, likely short for W. W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, Inc. They specialize in HVAC and plumbing services. Now, it is possible that if the company is working on fixing bathroom plumbing, you may notice some of the public restrooms at the resort are briefly closed due to the work, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Disney’s BoardWalk is also seeing some General Construction, based on the permit filed. The work will be done by DPR Construction, which is described as a “self-performing general contractor focused on highly complex and technical projects,” according to their website. They’re known for building hotels, medical facilities, offices, research and development facilities, manufacturing buildings, and mission-critical spaces.

Finally, Sir Mickey’s in Magic Kingdom will also be seeing some construction, but we’ve got more specifics on this one! We know that JCQ Services Inc. will be installing a 6-foot wall inside Sir Mickey’s. We’re not sure what it’s for, but we WILL be expecting to see some construction walls here, unless the work can somehow be done overnight.
