It’s an exciting day over here! We know Disney is hard at work on bringing the new Tropical Americas land to life over in Animal Kingdom, but since the construction walls are so high, it’s difficult to see just how much progress is being made.

That’s no problem thanks to @bioreconstruct on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), who is able to get a bird’s eye view above the construction to see what’s going on, and let’s just say? It looks like Disney is VERY hard at work, and this ride building looks BIG.
@bioreconstruct recently flew over Animal Kingdom and just LOOK at this construction! It looks like concrete was recently poured in the area of the new show building, and it’s looking pretty massive so far.
As a reminder, this area of the park used to be home to Chester & Hester’s DinoRama, as well as TriceraTop Spin and Primeval Whirl. Primeval Whirl was demolished long ago, but the remainder of this area of the land closed in January of this year.

It certainly looks like Disney has cleared more land than what was previously part of DinoLand to make way for this new area of the land, which isn’t surprising considering the scale of the concept art! See all that concrete? Yep, that’s all new, and it’s the foundation of the ride building for the new Encanto ride.

We do know that this new attraction will be a boat ride and will feature the Family Madrigal, and the story will center around the day Antonio receives his special gift of communicating with animals and his room completely transforms into a rainforest.

While that’s not the only new attraction coming to this area of the land — there’s also a new carousel ride that will feature wood carved animals. While the concept art is just a concept right now and could all change, we’ve seen Scuttle from The Little Mermaid, Timon and Pumba from The Lion King, Kaa from The Jungle Book, Squirt from Finding Nemo, Hei-Hei from Moana, Abu from Aladdin, Bambi from Bambi, Kevin from Up, and Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh all represented on the ride.

DINOSAUR will also be turned into a new Indiana Jones attraction, but as DINOSAUR isn’t set to close until February 2nd, 2026, Disney obviously hasn’t been able to start working on that new addition just yet.
