Here’s How You Can Watch Sports For Free While YouTubeTV and Disney Are Beefing

If you typically watch a lot of Disney-owned channels on YouTube TV, you’ve likely been pretty annoyed this past month.

Back on October 31st, Disney pulled ESPN, ABC, Disney Channel, FX, National Geographic, and Freeform on YouTube TV due to the inability to reach an agreement with Google. While right now there’s no ending in sight, something very interesting is happening — other companies are LOVING the feud, because it’s bringing them more business!

According to CinemaBlend, new reports are showing that sports fans are turning elsewhere to get their content instead of ESPN due to the issue, most notably Sling, DirecTV, Hulu, Fubo, and the ESPN app. Now, three of those are owned by Disney, as they recently acquired Fubo, but those other two services are pulling money away from Disney and YouTube TV.

To ease the pain of losing the channels, YouTube has been offering discounts to its subscribers to gain their good graces, but it’s yet to be seen if it’s working. Now, if you yourself have been really missing the channels you used to enjoy, we’ve got some great news — there’s a way to experience Disney’s channels for FREE during this agreement issue.

According to OregonLive, the easiest way for sports fans to get their fix is with DirecTV and Fubo, as both offer free trial periods. This could be exactly why we’ve seen numbers for both of those services jump — even if this change lasts longer than a month, you can use the free trial for one, cancel it, then try the free trial for the other.

If you need access to one important football game a week, Sling TV is also recommended. While they don’t have a free trial period, they do have multiple short-term “passes” to watch ESPN for a day, weekend or week at a time that start at just $4.99.

We know this whole situation isn’t ideal for anyone, that’s for sure, and we’re really hoping to see it resolved sooner rather than later with an agreement that won’t necessarily raise costs for subscribers immensely.
