Disney World Hotel Rooms Are Changing in 2026

Are you planning a vacation to Disney World in 2026?

One of the most important parts of planning a vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth is picking a place to stay. Disney offers several hotel options in varying price categories. There are lots of perks to staying at a Disney hotel, but as you start deciding which one to stay at, consider these changes and renovations coming in 2026.

Room Category Changes

In order to simplify your experience as a guest, Disney is changing the room category names at the Moderate Resorts. These resorts include Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—French Quarter, and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—Riverside.

The new room categories will be Standard Room, Preferred Room, or a room with a king bed. Some will continue to offer additional categories like the “Royal Guest Room” category at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—Riverside.

This change will hopefully help keep things simpler for guests as they plan for their next vacation!

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside

If you’re planning a stay at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside, be prepared for some refurbishments to be going on.

From early May 2025 through the end of February 2026, guest rooms in the Magnolia Bend will be undergoing refurbishment.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

From late March 2025 to mid-February 2026, guest rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort  will be getting refurbished.

This is a very spread out resort, so you may or may not even realize there is any ongoing construction during your stay.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

If you’re planning a stay from October 2025 through May 2026 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, be aware that  guest rooms at Kidani Village will be undergoing refurbishment.

Then, at Jambo House, refurbishments will be ongoing from May 2026 through January 2027.

Copper Creek Villas & Cabins

The Copper Creek Villas & Cabins have been getting refurbished since mid-May 2025, and the construction is expected to last until September 2025.

While this refurbishment is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, it means that those staying here in 2026 can expect new accommodations! You’ll be some of the first to stay in these refurbished villas and cabins.

Disney states that guests may see and hear construction around these resorts while refurbishments are ongoing.
