Disney Just Announced the OPENING TIMELINE for the NEW Muppets Coaster!

It’s been a busy few days in the world of Disney, especially over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Just recently, Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo had their last days of operation, and the land is officially closed now in preparation for its Monsters, INC. Land transformation. However, on the SAME day of its closure, Disney announced the official opening timeline for the new Muppets coaster in the park, and it might inspire you to plan an upcoming vacation!

Disney shared a video on its social media platforms where Kermit himself gives us the news that the Muppets are packing up and getting ready to head over to Sunset Boulevard to begin their takeover of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. We also learned that we’ll see them in their new location in 2026!

Yes, this means that we now know the Muppets version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will open in 2026 (likely closer to the end of the year, though that is just us speculating). However, Disney also confirmed that the current version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster with Aerosmith will remain open through 2025. That means NO construction walls on Sunset Boulevard in 2025 — YAY!

As a reminder, Disney revealed that the Muppets will be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, “teaming up with some of music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.”

It sounds like the essence of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith will live on with new music. We can’t wait to see what kind of songs will be played on the ride! Disney also stated, “We know so many of you share our love for The Muppets and know their energy will be a perfect fit for this coaster. Plus, as the first Disney ride ever to feature The Muppets, there’s sure to be laughter, screams and new tunes for this attraction for fans to enjoy throughout the adventure and plenty of Muppets-themed merchandise on Sunset Boulevard!”

While we’re excited about the changes, we’re still a little sad that the classic Jim Henson show, Muppet*Vision 3D, is gone. Thankfully, you can still head to Disney+ to watch all your favorite Muppet films, and we’ll be keeping an eye out to see if any more Muppet content comes out soon.
