Universal Orlando Confirms Ride CHANGE for Halloween Horror Nights 2025

If you’re planning on attending Universal Orlando‘s Halloween Horror Nights this year, congrats! We’re just as excited as you are about this year’s event.

Universal recently announced that a haunted house based on Fallout would be on the way this year, and that something involving Five Nights At Freddy’s will be available, but if you’re someone who also enjoys low wait times for Universal attractions during the event, we’ve got some bad news for you. It’s now official that the event will have one less ride available, because a Universal Studios attraction is closing for good sooner than we thought.

Previously, based on a permit we had seen filed by Universal Orlando, it looked like Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit would be closing sometime in 2025. The NEW closing date is August 18th, which means that this coaster, which is usually open during Halloween Horror Nights, won’t be available.

This means that anyone planning to attend Halloween Horror Nights and catch a ride on the coaster will have their plans foiled.

So now we’re left with the question: will Universal open another ride during this special event to keep the same number of attractions open after-hours, or will they just have one less ride available?

While many people focus on the haunted houses, scare zones, and shows at Halloween Horror Nights, there are plenty of people who enjoy balancing those out with the rides, so we could see some people being mad that one less ride is available, but ticket prices are about the same.
