This EPCOT Canada Pavilion Trend Is Getting Out of Control

Alright EPCOT, you’ve been through a lot in the past few years, we’ll be the first to admit that.

Spaceship Earth

You went through an entire transformation that brought us Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, CommuniCore Hall, and CommuniCore Plaza, just to name a few, AND you’re working on a new 21+ Spaceship Earth lounge called Geo-82 right now, but you’re not done yet. However, we’ve got to admit — we don’t know WHAT is going on in Canada, but it’s gotta finish up.

For YEARS now, there’s been mysterious construction happening over in the Canada Pavilion. We say mysterious because…well, we’ve got no idea what they’ve been working on, and Disney hasn’t announced anything.

Now, when this construction began all the way back around October 2023 (!!!) these walls were up because Le Cellier was getting some work, and we saw all the scaffolding around the building.

However, then the scaffolding went away and in June 2024, the walls were still up with no apparent reasoning.

And even now, though we’re coming up on almost a year from when the scaffolding was taken down and only the walls remained, the wall is STILL THERE.

STILL. THERE.

Canada, what is going ON?! When we’ve passed by this area, we haven’t heard any construction noise, and again, Disney hasn’t made any announcements as to why this wall is up. There’s nothing closed in the pavilion or listed as being under construction/under refurbishment — Le Cellier is fully open for reservations as normal, and you can visit the Trading Post with no issues as well.

Canada Far and Wide is still working normally too, so don’t be fooled by the wall, it’s not closed off!

These walls have been up so long that we honestly had to look back at old photos to see what it REALLY used to look like. In case you’ve also forgotten, here’s what we’ve been missing.

What it used to look like!

Yes, you’re seeing correctly, the only thing this wall is blocking off is a STAIRCASE! Disney, was there a sinkhole you’re repairing? Did the stairs completely fall apart? What is going ON? Canada is such a beautiful pavilion and these walls are a pretty big eyesore, we’d love to see them gone soon.

  1. I totally concur. One of my favorite hidden nooks is the upper viewpoint of Canada’s waterfall. It is rarely crowded….a bit out of the way….and a refreshing pause from the crowds. But, of course, it’s now blocked behind this construction wall.
