Booking Lightning Lanes in Disney World is tricky, but things can get even trickier if you’re booking Lightning Lanes for EPCOT.

Things have recently changed in EPCOT, too, now that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has ditched its virtual queue and has an actual standby line. There’s also the matter of EPCOT having TWO entrances, which could affect how you navigate the park, so you’ve got to be smart when booking those Lightning Lanes. We’re breaking down our unspoken rules to be an EPCOT Lightning Lane pro.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Now that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind no longer has a virtual queue, the standby wait times could be HUGE on busy days — we’re talking HOURS long. So don’t even think about it — book a Lightning Lane Single Pass if this ride is your priority.

Yes, it costs extra money, but you’ll save valuable time not standing in line for EPCOT’s most popular ride.
Book in advance
You can book up to three Lightning Lane options in advance with Lightning Lane MultiPass, along with your Lightning Lane Single Pass options. You’ll be able to book a full seven days out from the first day of your vacation if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel or three days if you’re staying elsewhere.

For Multipass in EPCOT, you can choose one Tier 1 attraction (Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, or Soarin‘), as well as two other experiences that fall under Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
Check wait times
When you’re booking Lightning Lanes in the park, check a ride’s wait time BEFORE you book a Lightning Lane. Don’t waste a Lightning Lane selection on a ride with a short wait time.

Some EPCOT rides almost always have low wait times, so you shouldn’t waste a Lightning Lane on them. You’ll also want to strategize your day, so think about how a Lightning Lane time might impact your day before you book it.
Modify
You may not be aware of this, but you can change your Lightning Lanes within the My Disney Experience app. If you’ve got some Lightning Lanes that are later in the day than you would like, check to see if you can modify those.

Here’s the thing: a better/earlier time might become available, but you won’t know unless you check.
If you pay mind to our advice, you’ll be able to use Lightning Lane Multi Pass to maximize your ride time in EPCOT.
