People Are Sharing the Most Alarming Disney World Red Flags in 2025

While magical, Disney World is still not perfect and our readers know that.

Cinderella Castle

We asked our readers what are their red flags for Disney World in 2025 and they did not hold back. They make some great points on why fans might be more hesitant to visit Disney parks this year and we’re curious on if you would agree.

Construction

Disney World is starting some massive construction projects this year. It’s exciting for the future, however, that also means dealing with closures and construction walls up for long periods. Each of the four parks is set to have attractions and lands closed temporarily this year.

Villains Land @Disney

Many of our readers expressed concern over this issue. In fact, it was the number one response when we asked them for their red flags at Disney World this year.

New Animal Kingdom walls

We are already seeing walls go up in Animal Kingdom for the complete closure of DinoLand in preparation for a new Tropical Americas-themed land. But Animal Kingdom isn’t the only park where we could start to see walls go up. Magic Kingdom will begin its expansion on Villains Land and the new Cars Land area taking over the Rivers of America.

EPCOT already has walls up for the Test Track refurbishment and for the new Spaceship Earth lounge coming this year. Hollywood Studios should see walls go up in Muppets Courtyard to make way for the new Monsters, Inc area that is coming in the future.

Having construction walls up is not just an eye sore, they could also impact your walking pathways to access other areas of the park. It also means ride closures… which leads us to the number 2 most popular answer.

Ride Refurbishments and Closures

Our fans are worried about all of the ride refurbishments and closures that will be happening in 2025. Susan W. expressed “Too many ride closures and construction. Going to Disneyland this year.”.

Big Thunder Mountain refurbishment

At Magic Kingdom, we currently have Big Thunder Mountain and Astro Orbiter down for refurbishment. At EPCOT, Test Track is still down and at Hollywood Studios, we could see Rock N Rollercoasters and Muppets 3D close sometime this year. At Animal Kingdom, we will see It’s Tough to Be a Bug close to make way for Zootopia: Better Zoogether show coming later this year.

Rising Costs

Finally, rising costs are a big red flag. Of course, now we are paying for Lightning Lanes and even have the new Premier Pass, which costs hundreds of dollars.

Frozen Ever After Lightning Lane

Food costs have also seen an increase with a Mickey Pretzel being $7.99 before tax and water being $4 a bottle. Some guests are expressing that the quality is also going down while the prices are rising.

  1. My wife and I are from England and we first took our family in 2009 to WDW.
It was supposed to be a once in a life time holiday for the 5 of us.
We loved Florida and have been 7 times now and will visit again.
The red flag for us is th closure of one water park at a time.
Wh n we last visited in August 2022, only one water park was opened and it was very crowded.
I doubt it would of been as bad if both were opened.
I believe when only one is opened the ticket price should be lowered as here in the UK we pay for 4 theme parks and 2 water parks for 14 days.
We won’t be staying in WDW again until both water parks are opened at the same time.

  2. I’m so disappointed in the rising costs of parks admissions and food and beverage costs. All will make it impossible for my family to come back…ever.💔💔💔

  3. I’m at WDW for the first time in a long time and I couldn’t believe how relatively inexpensive the food is. I was able to have my choice of good quality meals at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot for cheaper than what I’d pay for a meal at McDonald’s. It feels like Disney’s good prices pretty accurately match regular food prices outside the parks.

  4. Why I do agree, we are still going this year. Celebrating milestone Birthdays.
We been to WDW numerous times so we can have a great time even with rides unavailable.
    Can’t wait!
