Disney World to Close Hall of Presidents For Refurbishment

Disney World is going to see a lot of changes in 2025.

Liberty Square

Not only is Disney’s Hollywood Studios getting a new Villains-themed show, but Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be converting It’s Tough To Be A Bug into Zootopia: Better Zoogether. Plus we’ll start seeing construction on the Monsters, Inc. land in Hollywood Studios, and the Cars expansion and Villains land in Magic Kingdom. One Disney World change, though, comes every four years — when the U.S. elects a new President.

The Hall of Presidents will be closing on January 20th for a refurbishment. Disney has not yet announced when the Hall of Presidents will reopen. The attraction, which is located in Liberty Square, was an opening day attraction in Magic Kingdom and has been receiving updates every time a new President is elected to the United States.

Believe it or not, though, the show did not include modern presidents until 1993, when Disney decided to add all the modern Presidents who served from 1971 and onward. Now, when a new President is elected, the Hall of Presidents gets updated to reflect the new President.

Fun fact: The Hall of Presidents is the last project Disney Legend Ub Iwerks worked on, so there’s a little bit of Disney history in there, too. The entire premise of the attraction was also based on an original idea by Walt Disney as part of his original idea for Liberty Square and Magic Kingdom.

We’ll let you know when Disney announces a reopening date for the attraction, so in the meantime, check back with AllEars again soon for more.

    1. They may have to move him to the front and change the flow so that his talk ends the show.

I do enjoy knowing many of the workers will be in tremendous distress making the changes, but that is the karma hate brings.
