6 Ways You’ll Need to Pack Differently for Disney World Next Year

As we near the end of 2024, you’re probably planning your 2025 Disney World vacation!

2025 is looking to be an exciting year at the Disney World parks! New entertainment is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom. New restaurants, lounges, and more will also be available throughout the year. Plus, new perks are headed to guests soon. So, with all these changes coming to Disney World, how will you need to pack differently in 2025? Let’s find out!

Bathing Suit

It’s likely that if you’ve been to Disney World before you probably packed your swimming suit. The idea of packing a bathing suit for Disney World isn’t a new one, but in 2025, you’ll want to make sure it’s easily accessible on your hotel check-in day!

Starting on January 1st, Disney is offering a free one day ticket to one of its two water parks for Disney World hotel guests to use on the day of their check-in! This means that while you wait for your room to be ready, you can head over to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon (whichever is open at the time) to chill and take a dip.

So be sure to have those bathing suits handy in case your room isn’t ready! You can grab your suits out of your suitcase quickly, drop off the luggage at the resort, and scoot over to the water park.

New Entertainment-Inspired Outfits

A new Villains show, Zootopia show, and nighttime parade are all coming to Disney World in 2025! That means you’ll need to be prepared (as Scar tells us) with NEW DisneyBound Outfits. Grab a Zootopia outfit for at Disney’s Animal Kingdom…

Pirates Garb

Later in 2025, a brand-new Pirates of the Caribbean lounge will be opening at Magic Kingdom!

If you’re vacation is going to be further into 2025, you may want to pack an outfit that says “I belong in Tortuga” so you don’t get interrogated by all the pirates!

We’re VERY excited for this new lounge to open in Adventureland!

Dramamine

2025 will be the last year that the ride DINOSAUR is open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Disney has shared that this will be the last year for us to “get that dino!”

While we don’t yet know when Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will close for its re-theming from featuring Aerosmith to the Muppets, it’s likely that 2025 will be one of the last times you can ride it while singing “Dude looks like a lady” or “Love in an elevator.”

With these two thrill rides closing soon (at least temporarily in Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s case), it’s likely that you’ll want to ride them… a lot. We won’t blame you for riding each 191471 times. However, you might wanna pack the Dramamine if you plan to enjoy them over and over again!

Plus, there are plenty of other rides in Disney World that a dose of Dramamine would be helpful with. (We’re looking at you Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, TRON Lightcycle / Run, and Space Mountain.)

A Harry Potter/Universal Outfit

2025 is also the year that Epic Universe opens at Universal Orlando Resort!

So as much as we all love Disney World, it’s inevitable that people will end up at Epic Universe at some point during their Florida vacation in 2025. Half the time at Disney World and half at Universal? Why not! In that case, you’ll want to pack a couple of outfits specifically for Epic Universe, such as a Harry Potter-inspired outfit for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic.

When you visit the new Super Nintendo World, you’ll want to fit in as Mario or Luigi!

Pack Your Patience

This past summer Disney announced A LOT of changes coming to the Disney World parks. A new Tropical Americas land is headed to Animal Kingdom, Monsters, Inc. Land at Hollywood Studios, a Villains Land and new Cars attractions at Magic Kingdom, and more. Much of these new lands and attractions will begin getting created in 2025 (or construction has already started).

Because of this, we’re expecting a lot of construction to be going on in 2025 at all of the parks. You’re going to want to pack your patience while navigating around walls and scrim and potentially hearing the work being done. It’s exciting to have so many new additions coming to the parks, but the process can sometimes take away from the magic.
