So you’ve been planning your Disney World trip for months (or even years) and you’ve finally made it to Magic Kingdom.
However, there’s something you need to know if you’ve arrived in Magic Kingdom first thing in the morning, and it’s all about which direction you should go. So we’re going to give you a pro tip on how to do an early morning in Magic Kingdom. You’ll want to start by turning right when you reach the Castle Hub.
Okay, so you might be wondering what we’re talking about. We’ve mentioned the whole right vs. left turn at the World Showcase in EPCOT, but how does this argument apply to Magic Kingdom? Let’s start with what we know. If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel or a select hotel in the Disney World area, you get access to Early Theme Park Entry.
Early Entry is always a good idea in Magic Kingdom, especially as it’s the park with the most rides in Disney World. So if you’re taking advantage of Early Theme Park Entry, you’ll get into the park 30 minutes earlier than other guests.
However, only two lands are open in Magic Kingdom for Early Theme Park Entry: Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Do you see where we’re going with this? Both of those lands are found to the right of Cinderella Castle. If you turn left, you will not be able to enter Adventureland or Frontierland until Magic Kingdom’s official opening, aka rope drop.
So you really don’t have much of a choice but to turn right at Magic Kingdom if you’re there for Early Theme Park Entry. A good strategy is to try to knock out as many rides in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland as you can, and then head on over to the rest of the park.
Note that you will need valid admission and a MagicBand, MagicMobile pass, or Key to the World card to use Early Theme Park Entry. Your MagicMobile pass or MagicBand will be scanned before you can get into Tomorrowland and Fantasyland early.
It’s also a good idea to know your transportation options if you’re planning on using Early Theme Park Entry. Disney buses generally begin running 45 minutes before the parks’ official opening times, while the Monorail begins 30 minutes prior to the earliest park opening. If you’re taking a boat, you’ll want to check its schedule.
