4 Magic Kingdom Stores I’ll Never Shop at Again

If you’re heading to Disney World for vacation, you’ve got to start thinking about your souvenirs!

Disney World merchandise!

You’ll likely want to budget a little extra for a new pair of ears, a Christmas ornament, or maybe even a t-shirt. But when you get to the parks, where do you go to spend that money? Well, today, we’re breaking down the gift shops that we AVOID in Magic Kingdom.

The Emporium…at Specific Times

We’re starting this list with a possibly controversial choice, but hear us out! We love The Emporium at Magic Kingdom for getting a little bit of everything, but it can be an absolute house of chaos during certain times of the day.

The Emporium in Magic Kingdom

We HATE shopping in The Emporium directly after the parade or fireworks, and it can be a pain at the very end of the night as well. Those are the times of day when heavy crowds are hanging out on Main Street, U.S.A. and then those crowds drift into the gift shops. Trust us, you’ll enjoy shopping in The Emporium a lot more if you’re not fighting for your life while doing it.

Island Supply

In Adventureland, there’s a hidden little shop called Island Supply, but it’s really a Sunglass Hut. Here, you can buy designer sunglasses thanks to a partnership between Disney and the brand. But be warned, those designer sunglasses come with a designer price tag as well!

We generally avoid this shop because it doesn’t offer very many Disney-themed souvenirs, and we’d rather spend our hard-earned cash on something to commemorate our trip. If you’d like to shop for sunglasses, you might be better off heading to Disney Springs or taking a trip to one of the outlets in the Orlando area.

Memento Mori

Memento Mori is THE one-stop-shop for Haunted Mansion fans, and it has some amazing merch and super cool theming. So why then did it make our list? Because we want to spend WAY too much money in there!

Memento Mori

From themed chess sets to t-shirts with our favorite ride animatronics on them, we could spend an excessive amount of time and money in this shop. (Especially for those on our team who love the mansion!) And if you’re a die-hard fan of the ride, you might want to set yourself a budget and a time limit when you go in here.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Photos

Last but not least, we’ve got the gift shop at the exit of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. This tiny store has a small collection of Buzz Lightyear and Toy Story merchandise to choose from, but it’s not our recommendation for a place to shop if that’s what you’re looking for.

Instead of shopping here, we recommend you take your Toy Story fans over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to check out the selection there. Jessie’s Trading Post at the exit of Toy Story Mania has more items to choose from, and if you’re not interested in doing the ride, you can visit the store by walking backward through Toy Story Mania’s exit.
