Epic Universe is open!

Universal‘s newest theme park has been open for a few months now, and we have so many thoughts! We’ve really loved the park so far, but it isn’t without its critics. One of the biggest things we’re really curious about is how much people are actually paying to hop on those rides.
Before we dive into this, we love Epic Universe! The new theme park’s attractions, entertainment, food, and more have blown us away, creating an obsession. That being said, it isn’t going to be the biggest theme park you’ve been to, but it might be just as costly.

Ticket prices for Epic Universe range from $139 per day to $199 per day. That’s before taxes, so tickets can go over $200 per person per day. Prices are date-based, so they fluctuate based on crowd demand. Prices are peaking at $199 on days like Christmas, but whether you’re paying over $100 or $139, you’re paying for the same number of rides.

Not only are there only 11 rides, but those lines can get extremely LONG, so there’s a chance you might not be able to ride every attraction during your visit. As crowds rise, we’ve been keeping an eye on those wait times, and there have been days when the most popular attractions have reached wait times of 3 hours.

In addition to the long lines, almost every single one of these rides is outdoors, so if it starts raining, you’re out of luck! The only rides that can continue to operate in bad weather are Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, Monsters Unchained, and Constellation Carousel. There are two shows you can watch if the lightning shuts down a majority of the rides: Le Cirque Arcanus and The Untrainable Dragon.

Even if they’re open in the rain, it means that everyone else in the park (including you) will now be trying to get into four ride lines or two shows. Sure, you can go eat, but during those Orlando Summer showers, any place that is covered is going to be busy. So, if you’re headed to the parks for only one day, there’s a world where you could pay over $200 for less than 11 rides.

Now, with that contingency, you might not care to ride every attraction! When it comes to me, Fyre Drill is a skip almost every time, mainly because I don’t like water rides. If you’re also wanting to focus on snacks and food, not every single ride is a top priority for you.

While we don’t love the idea of high-priced park tickets, it’s a fact that this is what’s happening in the theme park world right now. Long story short, the answer is yes, people are paying a lot for a few rides that you might not be able to ride all of. But if you’re looking for more than just rides, Epic will definitely provide that! As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Universal news and updates.
