Shhh! We're Spilling Our New SECRET To Riding Guardians TWICE in a Row

We’ve been busy testing out Disney World’s new Lighting Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass sytem, and we’re learning something new about it every day.

We’ve already told you about how things have changed for booking Lightning Lanes for park hopping, as well as given you a step-by-step guide on how to book Lightning Lanes. Well, we tried something NEW today, and we ended up riding a VERY popular EPCOT ride TWICE in a row.

This morning, we managed to grab a virtual queue spot for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT. As you may know, this ride does not have a standard standby line: you can only ride it via virtual queue and Lightning Lane Single Pass. So we also bought the Lightning Lane Single Pass.

However, we noticed that the app was telling us our estimated virtual queue callback time was at 9:16AM, while our Lightning Lane Multi Pass time was between 9AM and 10AM. That means those two times were overlapping.

Well, here’s what happened. We got our call back for Cosmic Rewind and were given until 9:46AM to get in line for the ride.

The notification actually came in BEFORE the park opened, so we entered EPCOT at 9AM and booked it over to the ride. We got in the standby line, went through the queue, and used the chicken out exit (we didn’t want to actually ride it today, but the ride itself is about 3 minutes). Then we got back in line and used our Lightning Lane Single Pass. Yep, we got in line TWICE in a row. We went through the queue again and came to the realization that it takes about an hour to ride it twice. In other words, it’s possible to use both virtual queue and Lightning Lane, even if their times overlap.

Granted, it was mostly a luck of the draw that we got overlapping times, but if you do both virtual queue and Lightning Lane Single Pass, you can ride Cosmic Rewind twice in a row, as well as other rides in Disney World that have virtual queue and Lightning Lane Single Pass.
