NEWS: 3 Major CHANGES Immediately Begin at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Hellooooo, Hollywood (Studios)! This park is the place to BE. You’ve got thrilling rides like Tower of Terror, entertaining shows like the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, and even some unique dining options like 50s Prime Time Cafe.

As much as we love all those rides and shows, we left out one major part of the Disney’s Hollywood Studios experience: character meet and greets! Now, for several years, this park has hosted “character sightings,” which are a little different than a typical meet and greet. But things are FINALLY changing — let’s talk about it!

OK, so first, let’s talk about those character sightings we mentioned earlier. Ever since 2020, we’ve been waving hello to characters like Donald, Daisy, Chip, Dale, Goofy, and even Max from afar.

When a sighting is happening, you can look at the characters, but you can’t get close enough for a hug or an autograph. 

Back in the days of social distancing, this was a great solution for people to be able to interact with characters. But now that most character meet and greets are back at Disney World’s other parks, Hollywood Studios was one of the few remaining locations still hosting character sightings. 

During our visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on March 3rd, we noticed that ALL character sightings are officially gone on the My Disney Experience app. Instead, Donald and Daisy, Chip and Dale, and Max and Goofy are all now available to meet (and HUG) around the park.

You can meet Donald and Daisy over at Echo Lake next to Dinosaur Gertie. The couple will be around throughout the day until about 3:45PM. Make sure to check My Disney Experience before your visit — those times can change!

We went to say hello to our favorite pair of Ducks — it was a blast!

Chip and Dale are also back to meeting guests in a traditional meet-and-greet setting!

You’ll find them over on the other side of Echo Lake. Keep your eyes peeled for chipmunks if you’re in the area!

Note that if the weather is looking rainy or overcast, you may find these silly chipmunks over by the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular (chipmunks hate the rain, after all).

Finally, Goofy and Max have officially checked out of the Hollywood Tower Hotel and are back meeting guests by Grand Avenue! 

These two are tucked away in the corner of the park, so it’s easy to miss them! Don’t forget to check the My Disney Experience app to see when they will be visiting.

There’s never a dull moment with these two! We LOVE chatting with Goofy and Max.
