A Word of WARNING if You’re Staying at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

Coronado Springs is one of Disney World’s popular moderate hotels on property.

The hotel is known for having a very romantic and relaxed atmosphere and being loosely themed to Disney (whereas resorts like Art of Animation and Pop Century are very heavily Disney-themed). If you’re staying at this hotel this week, specifically February 14th and February 15th, you need to know about this upcoming event. 

On Thursday, February 15th, Gran Destino Tower in Coronado Springs will be undergoing a scheduled power outage.

The power will be out between 2AM and 5:30AM, which is before many guests are awake for the day. This means that you will be unable to turn on the lights, coffee maker, TV, and everything else that uses power.

Disney stated that during this time, work will be conducted that will temporarily affect electrical power in guest rooms.  This is likely just routine maintenance, but it’s still helpful to know about ahead of time — especially if you’re trying to charge your phone.

So, if you get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom or wake up super early for a run or a cup of coffee, don’t panic if the power is off!
