TRON Coaster Updates, Dining Promo Card News, and More Big Disney Changes from this Week

Well, February is over halfway over, and Valentine’s Day is history.

Valentine’s Day is over

Now, we’re looking forward to the upcoming Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend and getting ready for the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival. But some important things did happen this week. So here’s the biggest Disney news of the week.

TRON Lightcycle / Run

We had a chance to ride TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom thanks to an invitation by a Cast Member during Cast Member previews of the rides, and we have a LOT of new details to share about the ride. First, we’ve outlined exactly how the lockers at the ride work — remember this is the first Disney World ride that requires guests to use lockers for their larger items.

We also shared some important details about the seats on the ride. There IS a test seat outside the attraction for guests to determine if they can ride comfortably. If they can’t, adaptive seating is available. You can read more about our experience with the seats here.

The ride will also feature a fun photo op in front of it.

Registration for previews of the ride for Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members also became available this week, but both sold out quickly! These were limited, so everyone else will have to wait until the ride opens on April 4th.

Inside TRON Lightcycle / Run

Finally, we recently noticed a new kiosk set up outside the ride. We’re not sure what will be offered here, but we’re going to keep an eye on it and find out!

Roundup Rodeo BBQ Updates

We’re getting closer to the opening of Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney recently shared a sneak peek of what the inside of the restaurant will look like.

The restaurant opens on March 23rd — Disney also recently shared that reservations will become available as of February 21st.

EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival Prep Is Underway

Although the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival doesn’t start until March 1st, EPCOT is already getting things set up for the event. Some of the festival’s topiaries have already started showing up throughout EPCOT.

This year’s festival will also have some new topiaries, including ones based on Encanto characters and Princess Tiana!

TV and Movies

This was a BIG week for Disney television shows and movies. First, we got a new clip from season 3 of The Mandalorian. The series will premiere on Disney+ on March 1st.

Thanks to the Super Bowl, we also got a new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Chapter 3

…and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny!

Later, we got a new trailer for the live-action The Little Mermaid with our first look at Melissa McCarthy as Ursula.

We have SO many great movies to look forward to.

HUGE Change Made to the Disney Dining Promo Card

The Disney Dining Promo Card Offer gives guests booking specific vacation packages for specific dates a card that can be used across a variety of Disney World restaurants. The amount the card receives depends on how many nights booked, which dates guests are visiting, and which resort guests are staying at.

Disney had previously stated that the limit of each card was $750 per trip, but guests can actually earn more than that. Each card can hold up to $1,000 and if the amount goes over that, Disney will split it on two cards.
