We haven’t even stepped into 2023 yet, but plenty of us are already planning our next trips to the parks.

There are many things happening at Disney in 2023 — the 50th anniversary celebrations are ending, all of the Disney100 events kick off, Splash Mountain is closing for good — so it makes sense that some dates are already selling out!
We are seeing dates with low availability for park reservations in Disney World, and even one day with no openings! For the first week of January, there is partial availability, however the 2nd is completely sold out with no availability in any of the parks.

This is true for both those who are only purchasing theme park tickets, as well as those who are booked as resort guests. On January 1st, 3rd,4th, and 5th, only some parks are full.

Even those with an Annual Pass (like the Incredi Pass) are out of luck! If you don’t already have park reservations for January 2nd, you won’t be able to reserve them now.

The rest of January and February are currently open, but these could easily book up quickly, too. If you are hoping to visit Disney World during these months, make sure to check the availability ahead of time, and stay tuned to our site for more updates on park reservations and sold out dates! Park pass availability changes constantly, so it is possible (but not guaranteed) that January 2nd will open back up.

Park pass reservations were initially introduced when Disney World reopened from COVID-19 in the summer of 2020, and it requires guests to purchase tickets AND make a reservation for the park they wished to enter. Many Disney fans are not happy about the system, but because of its perks to the company (like being able to easily track demand) it’s probably not going anywhere anytime soon.

UPDATE: On the afternoon of December 27th, we noticed that park passes returned for select parks on January 2nd. If you want to visit a Disney World park on this day, grab those park passes while you can!
