Disney pros know that one of the most important things to do when visiting Disney World in the summer is staying hydrated. 🥵

When it’s a HOT Florida day with the sun beating down it’s easy to get dehydrated fast, but there are lots of ways to get free water around Disney World. However, one of the most popular ways to get a big refreshing cup of water might cost you now, so here’s what you need to know.
When it comes to free water in Disney World, you have lots of options. You can get cups of water for free from most quick service restaurants, Joffrey’s, and you can even find water bottle refill stations and water fountains in certain areas.

If you’re a Starbucks fan, you’ve probably ordered your share of water cups in Disney World. Whether you prefer the venti or trenta size (the biggest cup sizes you can get!), these cups can be the more preferred water receptacles over the small cups you typically get from Disney World quick service spots. Plus it’s easy to order a water along with your coffee!

There is one Starbucks location in each Disney Park and recently we noticed that Cast Members were no longer giving out free venti-sized water cups, specifically in Magic Kingdom at Main Street Bakery.

When we asked a Magic Kingdom Cast Member about it, they told us that only the small red cups are complimentary at this time. On a separate visit, a Cast Member confirmed that a venti water will now cost money in Magic Kingdom, but you can ask for as many of the red cups as you want (for free).

At Creature Comforts (aka Starbucks) in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a Cast Member told us that you can still order a free venti water anywhere except Magic Kingdom. They attributed this new limit to the high number of guests visiting Magic Kingdom and the higher cost of the venti cups versus the red cups.

Originally at Trolley Car Cafe (also Starbucks) in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we found that you could still get a free venti water as long as you ask for it when you place your order, not at the pickup counter.
However, on a recent visit when we asked for a Venti water, we were given two Grande cups instead. Cast Members has pre-filled Grande cups ready to go for anyone who asked.

This could be subject to change, but for now, you may want to plan to avoid Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom if you’re looking for a free venti water. Of course, you can also accept the free red cups of water as an alternative.

Other places to seek free water in Magic Kingdom include the following locations:
- All Joffrey’s locations
- Hub Popcorn carts (Main Street, U.S.A. — all other popcorn carts only have bottled waters for purchase)
- Sunshine Tree Terrace (Adventureland)
- Westward Ho (Frontierland)
- Sleepy Hollow (Liberty Square)
- Storybook Treats (Fantasyland)
- Friars Nook (Fantasyland)
- Auntie Gravity’s (Tomorrowland)
- The Lunching Pad (Tomorrowland)
