If you’ve ever been to Disney World, then you know how aggressively hot it can get. The heat is around for most of the year, but it’s especially obvious in the summertime.
With the sun beating down and the humidity raging, it’s really easy to get dehydrated during a day in the parks. Disney offers free cups of ice water at quick service restaurants and some snack stands, but now there’s a new solution to the problem!
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we noticed something we hadn’t seen since the pandemic — a self-serve water station!
The coolers were located outside of Backlot Express with cups on a tray beside them. Guests were free to walk up and pour their own cup of water.
These cups are the same ones that we’ve seen used to give out free water at restaurants. There were some of these stations around the parks before the pandemic, but they typically had cone-shaped cups instead.
The water was ice cold in temperature, but no ice fell into our cup thanks to the nozzle on the cooler. It was perfectly refreshing for a hot summer day!
We’ll be checking around the parks to see if these pop up anywhere else, so stay tuned. This could be a big game-changer for surviving the summer season!
