NOTE: While we will not be delving into all the surprises and stories onboard the Galactic Starcruiser, we will be sharing details from onboard, so proceed with caution if you are looking to remain completely spoiler-free for your journey.
People have said that the new Star Wars hotel is unlike anything else in Disney World. This is true, mostly, but your voyage with galactic heroes (and villains) has more in common with the most magical place on earth than you might think.

There’s one thing you have to give up to stay at the Star Wars hotel (no, we’re not talking about the high price tag), and it’s a sacrifice many Disney World fans already make during their vacations.
The Cost
Before we continue, we need to talk about the $5,000+ elephant in the room. The Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser experience is expensive; that’s no secret. But for those willing to pay the price for the adventure of a lifetime, we need to talk about how the price tag might impact people’s vacation.

Have you ever had a little free time in the middle of a busy day and felt guilty for taking a break? Take that feeling and add a few thousand dollars to the equation, and you’ll see how it’s easy to feel like you have to do everything on the Galactic Starcruiser to make it worth the money.

This phenomenon happens in the Disney parks all the time; people travel from all over the world, pay thousands of dollars, and spend weeks planning the perfect vacation. They deserve to get their money’s worth out of the trip, so they pack as many attractions, shows, and dining experiences into their vacation as possible.

With the pressure to do as much as possible in a limited amount of time, people may feel like lounging in their hotel room is a waste of time. In fact, there’s not even a pool in the Star Wars hotel — no time to swim when there’s a galaxy to save!
The Experience
Okay, so you book a voyage on the Galactic Starcruiser, now what? Turns out, there’s a lot to do in just three short days. Like, a lot.

Your Cruise Director has an itinerary packed with activities, training, and interactions. Some are required (or heavily encouraged), and others are completely up to you. You can accept every mission, chat with every character, and explore the entire ship, yet still feel like there’s more to do.

In fact, it’s impossible to do everything — and Disney designed it that way! If you pledge your allegiance to the First Order, your experience might look completely different than that of a rebel sympathizer.

If you decide to really lean into everything that the experience has to offer, expect to be busy. There’s plenty to keep you occupied, especially if you’re trying to do it all, so prepare for a whirlwind experience with lots of action.
The Result
So what do you have to give up to stay at the Star Wars hotel? Sleep! While the option for a nap is always there, you’ll probably feel so immersed in the story that the idea of taking a nap is completely out of the question.

Of course, everyone’s experience will vary, but if you’re trying to do everything, it’s unlikely you’ll want to take even a moment’s break from the excitement.

Not only that, but a lot of your adventures might take place later in the evening. We won’t spoil the story for you, but just a quick glance at the itinerary reveals that the Captain’s Toast on night one takes place from 9:45-10PM!

If you decide to wake up early and stay up late, you’re giving up a lot of sleep! For three short days, you just might have to sacrifice a little rest if you want the full Star Wars experience. In the meantime, we’ll continue to show you everything there is to do at the new Star Wars hotel, so stay tuned to AllEars for more!
